We are excited to share Belinda and Bruno's wedding at Veggielution in San Jose, CA.  They met at Veggielution back in 2009 when they were weeding a watermelon patch with a bunch of people.  Belinda picked up a snake after someone found it and later handed it to Bruno. Now she jokes that she charmed Bruno with a snake!  During their wedding, Bruno found a similar gopher snake and it really could have been the same one.  Full circle!

Bruno is a designer at LinkedIn and owns his own leather goods shop (www.headknife.com).  Belinda is an environmental consultant, wildlife rehabilitator an avid gardener. The community farm was the perfect place for Bruno and Belinda to exchange their vows- full of fun, life, and growth.

Some thoughts from the happy couple:

Memorable Moments

  • Getting ready at the house together was such a fun idea that we got from you all. We love our photos in front of our 100 year old house.
  • Walking into the green dome with Bruno and seeing that almost all of our guests had squeezed in there! (Almost 200 people!) It was so magical to be in that incredibly gorgeous space, seeing the faces of all our loved ones.
  • Dancing out of the green dome as husband and wife, led by Washboard Annie and the Crustacean Jazz Band!
  • Dancing to Dixieland (led by Washboard Annie and the Crustacean Jazz Band) with all the little girls dancing with umbrellas.

Inspirations

We wanted it to be a fun day, that many people could see their hands in. We had stitch-n-bitch parties for months prior making the pin flags, folding napkins, stamping seed packets, etc. It was a community effort, with tons of help from our friends and family and that was important to us.

Their Story

We met a Veggielution Community Farm in 2009. The farm founders used to have parties all summer and we started getting to know each other at those. The following year we were getting closer and made plans that he would teach me a song on the ukelele. At that hangout he asked me out and that was the beginning. We actually ended up seeing each other 5 times before our official "first date" because we were so excited about each other. Since then we've been camping and exploring California together. We love throwing parties for our friends and hanging out with our families.
